The eighty-eighth installment of a new series on the blog that we will be posting throughout the month of December. As some of you are aware, Music for All will be taking an Honor Band to the 2017 Rose Parade. Our members were selected by audition for the ensemble and come from all across the United States. We are looking forward to coming together for the first time as a band at the end of December and we hope this series will allow us all to get to know some (hopefully most!) of the members of this awesome ensemble!

What made you decide to apply to be a part of the band?
I have a deep love for music and traveling, and the opportunity to march with amazing high school musicians from all over the country in one of the nation’s largest parades was one I couldn’t pass up!

What part of the trip are you most excited about?
Meeting new people from all over the country, who share the same passion for band as I do.

What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in band?
1. Music creates family, a bond that can never be broken.
2. You can achieve anything with hard work and the right support system.
3. Never give up

Most memorable moment in band?
My memorable moment in band would have to stepping onto the field of Lucas Oil Stadium as a senior, my band by my side, ready to show everyone what small bands can truly achieve.

Besides band, what are you involved in at school?
I’m involved in HPAC, National Honor Society, and sports throughout the year.

What’s your favorite book?
My favorite book would have to be An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. It was an inspiring story about coming of age and adventure.

My favorite music album would have to be The Hamilton Musical. The music is so original and fun to listen to at the same time.

Favorite movie?
Remember The Titans

What’s your current plan for what you want to do after graduating high school?
I plan to attend a private liberal arts school in the New England area, majoring in Pre-Med and minoring in Music.

Have you participated in MFA/BOA events before? Which ones?
Of course! I love the MFA AND BOA programs! I attended the Music for All Summer Symposium the summer of my junior year. I also have attended Grand National Championships two times.
