The fifty-fourth installment of a new series on the blog that we will be posting throughout the month of December. As some of you are aware, Music for All will be taking an Honor Band to the 2017 Rose Parade. Our members were selected by audition for the ensemble and come from all across the United States. We are looking forward to coming together for the first time as a band at the end of December and we hope this series will allow us all to get to know some (hopefully most!) of the members of this awesome ensemble!

School Name: Hebron High School
What made you decide to apply to be a part of the band?
I heard about the BOA Honor Band from a Hebron alumni, who had applied and was accepted to march at the last Rose Bowl Parade in 2013. She talked about how incredible of an experience it was, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
What part of the trip are you most excited about?
Definitely meeting a bunch of new people who are just as passionate and excited about marching band as I am! Oh, and marching in the actual parade will be pretty sweet too.
What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in band?
1) Sacrifice. It takes a lot of time commitment and prioritizing to be all in all the time.
2) Responsibility. Managing my schedule appropriately and being mentally, physically, and musically prepared to conquer all the obstacles and challenges that come my way.
3) Excellence. I’ve learned to always try my best, set my expectations and standards high, and strive for perfection.
Most memorable moment in band?
During and after our performance at Grand Nationals in Semifinals. We were all just so proud and happy of how hard we worked all season long, and it was nice to see it pay off.
