Read below about this unique opportunity!

Dear Music Educator,

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in the Marine Corps Music Educators’ Workshop aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia from May 18 to May 22, 2021.

The workshop is designed to provide you with an opportunity to see firsthand how highly-qualified students are recruited, screened, and developed into Marine Musicians. Additionally, we will provide insight into our Marine training process, benefits and career opportunities and service in the Marine Corps. I am confident that you will depart Quantico with a comprehensive understanding of our process and a unique look into the caliber of men and women who make up the Marine Corps.

As part of the Music Educators’ Workshop, we strive to provide you with valuable tools and information to enhance your music education style and skillset, thereby allowing you to better connect with your students, positively influencing their overall performance and character.

During the course of the workshop, you will observe and participate in aspects of training and performance with Marine Band Quantico, as well as Officer Candidates School and The Basic School. In addition to the training and educational orientation, you will attend the renowned “Evening Parade” at the Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., which features the near-perfect precision of the Silent Drill Platoon and the Drum and Bugle Corps. The workshop will conclude with a tour of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, which provides the overall public with a readily accessible platform for the exploration of our Marine Corps history.

Music Educators and Marines both share a passion for transforming young people into high-caliber citizens of our great Nation. Our passion for integrity, strong moral character, education, and developing our greatest asset of the individual Marine/student is where our organization’s foundation lies. My desire is that you will come to learn and understand the exceptional opportunities we offer and share that knowledge with your own students and community.

Transportation, hotel accommodations, and travel expenses will be provided. For additional information, please contact Marine Corps Recruiting Command Community Engagement at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
