Matthew B. Carter

Matthew B. Carter is Executive Director of MusicCrossroads and Vice President of Music, Arts & Culture for the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association. He was previously the Vice President of Strategic Development for the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association and Tourism Tomorrow, Inc.

Matt has a degree in Finance from Ball State University and has received several certificates of continuing education from professional organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus, for which he is currently Chairman of the Finance Committee. He was a member of the founding committee of the Indy Jazz Fest, served on the Capital and Operating Fund Campaign Committee of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and has been active in numerous church and civic efforts.

Indianapolis Business Journal named him one of their “40 Under Forty” award recipients, for “people who have made their mark in the Indianapolis business community prior to their 40th birthday.”

Matt was awarded the John Philip Sousa Award in 1977 while a High School student in Indiana. He and wife Leslie have quadruplet daughters. Leslie, a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in music education, currently teaches music and movement to preschool children.
