North Canton Hoover H.S., OH yearbook photographer Katie Cantor is spending her weekend with the the Viking Marching Band at the Northeast Ohio Regional Championship and she is loving it. “I love it because I love the music. I get to be there and experience it and I absolutely enjoy the shows they put on. I also have a lot of friends in band,” says Katie. She even started going to football games just to take pictures of the marching band.

What makes this weekend even more special for Katie is that her older brother, Sam Cantor of Music for All, is the Event Manager of this regional. The Bands of America world is a small one to say the least. “There’s something amazing about the opportunity to facilitate an activity that you’re so passionate about, to see your alma mater and to share it with family on the field at the same time,” says Sam. And he couldn’t be more proud of his sister.

As a sophomore, this is Katie’s first year in yearbook and she’s widely involved in other extracurricular activities including track, mock trial, Quidditch Club, and leadership. She’s also an aspiring lawyer, who one day hopes to attend the University of Michigan Law School. We couldn’t be happier to have a lifelong supporter of music education and someone who is so passionate about sharing it with others.
