The winners of the 2021 Dr. William P. Foster Project Community Development Awards were honored at a reception at The Midwest Clinic on Thursday evening, December 16, 2021 in Chicago.

The College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA), Music for All (MFA), and National Band Association (NBA) have joined forces as the Music Education Alliance to serve bands and music education in the United States. The most prominent collaboration to date is the Dr. William P. Foster Project collaborative initiative to support bands in historically underserved and under-resourced communities. The Foster Project focuses on three specific areas of support: An Awards Program, Mentorship and Best Practice Resources.

Applications for the Middle School Awards of Excellence (high school awards will not be available in 2022) and nominations for the Community Development Award will open in early Spring with a deadline of June 15. Please look for those announcements on social media at that time. Go here for more information about these awards and the Dr. William P. Foster Project: https://www.musicedalliance.org/award/
